Who is Gemma Vendetta?

Gemma Vendetta is an Australian-made, Australian-owned beauty brand created by Gemma. A qualified makeup artist, skincare consultant and cosmetic formulator with a long-standing obsession with beautiful, functional formulations.

The brand was born from a desire to create cosmetics that perform beautifully while remaining thoughtful about the ingredients used to make them.

Today, Gemma Vendetta is currently based in South Australia’s Barossa region, where products are developed and made in small batches.

Gemma Vendetta is proudly Australian made and owned, with the brand based in South Australia.

Where possible, ingredients and packaging are sourced from Australian suppliers. Some specialised cosmetic ingredients and components are sourced internationally where an appropriate Australian option isn't available.

Cosmetics generally last best when kept somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight.

Always keep containers closed when not in use and avoid introducing water or other substances into the product.

For products containing botanical oils, good storage is particularly important because natural oils can oxidise over time.

Although products are formulated with care, individual sensitivities and allergies can occur.

If you experience irritation or an unexpected reaction, stop using the product and seek appropriate medical advice if necessary.

Please contact me as well, particularly if you believe there may be an issue with the product itself.

For hygiene and safety reasons, opened or used cosmetic products generally cannot be returned simply because you have changed your mind.

If your product arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible with your order details and photographs where appropriate.

I'll work with you to resolve the problem.

Apply a few drops to clean skin and gently massage or press into the face and neck.

It can be used on its own, layered over your usual moisturiser, or mixed with another skincare product when you want a little extra nourishment.

For best results, apply while the skin is still slightly damp.

Elixir Absolut is a concentrated facial oil designed to become a simple, luxurious part of your skincare ritual.

It combines carefully selected botanical oils and emollients to leave the skin feeling nourished, supple and beautifully conditioned.

A little goes a long way.

However, it should not be relied upon as your sole form of sun protection. For adequate everyday sun protection, apply a dedicated broad-spectrum sunscreen at the recommended amount.

Our BB/CC Cream currently comes in a carefully selected range of shades designed to accommodate different undertones and depths of skin.

The Gemma Vendetta BB/CC Cream is a lightweight complexion product designed to even the appearance of the skin while allowing your natural skin to remain visible.

It provides buildable coverage with a natural finish, making it easy to wear on its own or build where you need a little more.

It is formulated with skin-conscious ingredients and includes SPF20+.

Our mineral makeup formulations use carefully selected mineral pigments and other functional cosmetic ingredients to create products that look beautiful on real skin, rather than simply ticking a "mineral" box.

Because everything is made of chemicals! Including water, minerals and the ingredients found naturally in plants.

"Chemical-free" isn't meaningful cosmetic terminology.

Instead, I prefer to tell you exactly what is in a product and why I've chosen those ingredients.

*Transparency is much more useful than fear.*

INCI stands for *International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient*.

It is the standardised naming system used for cosmetic ingredients on ingredient lists.

Cosmetic formulation is about choosing ingredients for a reason.

I don't believe that an ingredient becomes good or bad simply because it is natural or synthetic. What matters is its identity, purity, function, concentration, safety and how it behaves within the finished formulation.

I formulate deliberately and transparently, and every ingredient has a purpose.

Many Gemma Vendetta formulations have been developed with sensitive and reactive skin in mind, and I deliberately avoid unnecessary fragrance and other ingredients that can be problematic for some people.

However, everyone's skin is different. "Natural", "vegan" or "gentle" does not mean that a product cannot cause an individual reaction.

If you have particularly reactive skin, I recommend patch testing a new product before using it more broadly.

Natural ingredients can be beautiful, effective cosmetic ingredients, but "natural" isn't automatically synonymous with better.

I formulate based on the properties an ingredient brings to a product: performance, skin feel, stability, function and suitability for the intended use.

Where a naturally derived ingredient provides the right performance, I love using it. Where formulation science calls for something else, I choose the ingredient that makes the most sense for the finished product.

The goal is not simply to make something sound natural.
