Goodbye 2025 - hello 2026!

Hello there!
I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas, and are now prepping to kiss 2025 goodbye, and welcome 2026 in with gusto.
Who is gusto, anyway, and why is he at my door? haha
By now, seeing as GV has been hovering around since at least 2010, you may know that I am small-scale. This means small batches. No big league playing over here. I'm your backyard cricket kind of gal. Where you take your runs in bare feet, hope not to get any blisters, and surprise your loved ones when you actually make a hit.
I am a self-funded start-up. What is that I hear you ask...
Well, strap yourself in, because I'm going to take you on a journey.
GVC exists, because I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2007. I woke up one morning and decided that each day counts. I was Gemma Vendetta - the pinup!
Fast forward to 2010, and my incredible Son was born. Talk about life changing! Raising him was something I never imagined to do alone...and yet in 2012 I became a single Mum.
As I was on extended leave, I decided to become a Hairdresser and Makeup artist, and was therefore 'unemployed' as I was a stay-at-home Mum, when my Son was of school age, I did a 'start your own business' course. Using my MS diagnosis, my qualifications as a hairdresser and makeup artist as a knowledge base of products and their toxicities, and as inspiration for GVC and doing everything I possibly could to focus on my immune health, I started Gemma Vendetta Cosmetics to help others do the same.
It hasn't been easy, and life certainly knows how to test 'us'. The globe encountered a pandemic. We all know that 'C' word.
My Son was in a critical condition with a 'mystery illness' towards the end of 2024. After he was discharged from hospital, a month later I started a much-needed JOB. First time entering the workforce since 2010 after my Son was born. Fast forward to now...
It means that I work fulltime (surprise, I have just got a new job, doing what I love Design and Marketing in a Local Government setting!). #gratitude
To stop my waffling, in short, and to reiterate, it means I am a full-time, single Mum. It means that to run GVC, I come home after work each day, make sure my teenager has eaten, decompress from the day, and then put my 'business brain on'. It's a funny word, 'Business'. Because that was always my intention with GVC, and anyone who knows me, knows that I don't do anything by halves. But GVC can only grow in baby steps. In ways that I can manage by myself. Within my financial means. Within my time allocation. So, until something else changes, or shows up...GVC remains a hobby. For now. Unless, by some miracle a horse of capital growth shows up at my front door. :D haha
Thank you all for all of your support, encouragement, sales, loyalty, and awesomeness. I'm not going anywhere just yet! I'll be opening BBCC pre-orders again in the new year. I'll continue to write formulas and formulate in small batches. And I will continue to be grateful for your patience with me. As I am only one 'being', and I am definitely a Verified Human.
Much love,
Gemma xx
